Hello, my name is Chantel and I am from Canada. In Canada, I studied East Asian Language and Culture in university, and also attended Doshisha University in Kyoto one summer for a fieldwork program. The program was created to better understand Japanese history and culture, while visiting several historical areas. I have taught children for several years, and understand how to keep the young ones engaged in class, as I have specialized in teaching ages 0 to 10. In Canada and in Japan, I have volunteered to teach English to children and adults; because I believe learning a second language can present one with amazing opportunities. It can help in not only obtaining a great job, but also give one a chance to learn about other cultures, and create international friendships. I teach children English because I know that they will become our next leaders, and help our world move towards globalization so we can one day understand and create relationships between all countries. I am looking forward to watching and helping your children grow, so they can fully understand and use English in a way where they are thinking for themselves and becoming their own individual. In my free time, I enjoy going to Temples and Shrines, and learning as much as I can about Japan.
